A Study on Status of the Infant Health Who Registered in a Health Center



Abstract
The purpose of this study is to be used for the improvement of the child Health services in Health center. Data were collected during the period from Dec. 1. 1982 to Dec. 28, 1982. through prepared questionnaire and interview with from the mothers who had their infants registered in child Health Clinic. and child health record in the health center. frequency and percentage were used to analyze of data and X2-test used for the statistical significance.
Results was as follows;
1. Breast feeding of feeding methods occupied 62.6% and artificial feeding did 15.3% and Mixed two method did 22.2% of the respondents. Feeding Methods had no relation to mother¢¥s age, educational background and the birth order of infants.
2. Weaning was done in 41.4% and 59.5% was not. 4.2% of respondents who did weaning started within two to three months and 16. 8% within four to five months and 14. 1% within six to seven months and 6.3% more than 8 months later after birth. The beginning of the weaning period. The beginning of the weaning period. The beginning of the weaning had no relation to mother¢¥s age, the birth order of infants and father¢¥s occupation. The lower the educational background of mother was, the more the meaning did. (p<0. 01)
3. The rate of B.C.G vaccination was 90.7 % and had no relation to mother¢¥s age, educational background, and the birth order of the infants.
4. The rate of 1st D.P.T. vaccination was 94.2% and the rate of 1st Polio vaccination was 93.7% who was more than two months old. The rate of 2nd D.P.T. vaccination was 90. 1 % and the rate of second Polio vaccination was 90. 1% who was more than four months old. The rate of 3rd D.P.T vaccination decreased in 64. 9% and the rate of 3rd Polio vaccination decreased to 61.7% of infants who was more than six months old. The rate of DPT and Polio vaccination had no relation to mother¢¥s age, educational background and the birth order of the infant.
